Chart Your Course to a Professional Pilot Career

This page is designed to provide the simplest guide to becoming a professional pilot

It may seem fascinating, but it is REALLY this simple…

Step 1: Student Pilot

This is where everyone starts. Enroll in a flight training program today and begin the journey!

Step 2: Private Pilot

Now you can fly your friends and family around for fun, but you cannot get paid. Just yet.

Step 3: Instrument Rating

Here’s where you really learn to fly the aircraft with precision. You can now fly in the clouds and low visibility conditions!

Step 4: Commercial Pilot

Now you can get paid to fly, under very strict regulations. You’ll need to build some flight time before most companies will hire you. You’ll probably want to get Commercial Multi-Engine too.

Step 5: Certified Flight Instructor

Here’s your answer to building that flight time! Teach students the skills you’ve learned, and get paid to do it! You can become a CFI, CFII, and even MEI; the choice is yours!

Step 6: Go Fly Jets!

Once you build the flight time required by the company you’d like to work for, that’s it!

What do you say?
