Biennial Flight Review
A flight review is a mandatory evaluation every pilot must complete every 24 months to maintain their flying privileges. It consists of at least one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight time, during which an instructor assesses your aeronautical knowledge, flight skills, and overall proficiency. This review is tailored to your experience and type of flying, ensuring you stay sharp and confident in the cockpit.
Instrument Proficiency Check
An Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) is a specialized evaluation for pilots with an instrument rating, ensuring they maintain the skills necessary for safe IFR operations. Rental Aircraft Checkout
A Rental Aircraft Checkout is a required process for pilots who wish to rent an aircraft from Roam Aviation. During the checkout, an instructor will evaluate your familiarity with the specific aircraft, covering essential procedures, systems, and flight characteristics. This ensures that you are proficient and safe to operate the aircraft independently, giving both you and the instructor confidence in your ability to handle the aircraft in various conditions.
Insurance/Proficiency Training
An Insurance/Proficiency Checkout is a thorough evaluation required by some insurance companies to ensure that pilots have the adequate skills to operate a specific aircraft safely. During this checkout, an instructor assesses proficiency in the aircraft, focusing on critical operations, emergency procedures, and overall handling. This process ensures that you meet the insurer’s standards, providing peace of mind that you are fully prepared to operate the aircraft confidently and safely.
High-Performance Endorsement
A High-Performane Endorsement is required for pilots who wish to operate an aircraft with an engine producing more than 200 horsepower. During the endorsement process, you’ll receive specialized training from an instructor on handling the increased power and performance characteristics of these aircraft. This includes mastering advanced maneuvers, understanding high-performance systems, and safely managing additional complexities. Earning this endorsement opens up new opportunities to fly more powerful and versatile aircraft
Complex Endorsement
A Complex Endorsement is required for pilots who wish to operate an aircraft equipped with a constant-speed propeller, retractable landing gear, and flaps. During the endorsement process, you will learn unique systems and procedures associated with complex aircraft, including managing the retractable gear, optimizing propeller performance, and executing advanced maneuvers. This endorsement enhances your piloting skills and qualifies you to fly a broader range of sophisticated aircraft.
